National Table Tennis Team Visits CUHK-Shenzhen
On April 2nd, the China National Table Tennis Team showed up on the campus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. The national players brought the audience several wonderful games, demonstrating their superb skills and team spirits. They also had a fantastic interaction with staff and students who are amateur players.
The event kicked off with the exciting interactive activities of the national team and faculty- and - student- representatives from CUHK-Shenzhen. Sun Yingsha (Asian Games women's team/mixed doubles champion, nicknamed "Little Devil"), Wang Manyu (2018 World Table Tennis Championships women's team champion, Table Tennis World Cup team champion), Fang Bo (Men's singles champion at 2015 World Table Tennis Championships), Yu Ziyang (Table Tennis World Cup team champion; National Games mixed doubles champion) competed with CUHK-Shenzhen representatives in this session, pushing the event to its first climax.
In the following performance session, Lin Gaoyuan, a Shenzhen world champion, and Xu Xin (Rio Olympics men's team champion) brought the audience a wonderful singles table tennis performance. Fang Bo, Liu Gaoyang (women's doubles/team champions of World Junior Table Tennis Championships, 2016 China Table Tennis Super League team champion), Wang Chuqin (team champion of World Table Tennis Championships, mixed doubles/team champions of Asian Games), and Chen Xing (World Cup team champion, mixed doubles champion at Asian Table Tennis Championship) also presented an enthusiastic doubles competition to the participants. The screams and cheers of the audience filled the CUHK-Shenzhen's indoor stadium.

After the interactive activities and performances, Vice President Shiping Zhu delivered a speech to welcome the arrival of the National Table Tennis Team. He said: "Our National Table Tennis Team is team of heroes. They are the glory of our country, and the pride of the people!"
Dr. Aurelien BOUCHER from France is a lecturer for General Education, studying sports sociology. He is also a table tennis enthusiast and played against the national team player Yu Ziyang in the interactive session. He said, "I actually have met Yu Ziyang once before when I was conducting my research in the Shandong table tennis team."
The national Table Tennis team is currently training at the Universiade Center in Longgang, preparing for the upcoming 2019 World Table Tennis Championships in Budapest.
