Pre-Departure Training for Students Studying Abroad Held at CUHK-Shenzhen
On November 10, a pre-departure training for students studying abroad was held at CUHK-Shenzhen by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE). The training aims to mitigate safety, security and health risks abroad, attracting a great number of students and parents from Shenzhen and the surrounding area.
Experts and scholars from various fields gave lectures on mental health, cultural confidence, emergency response, etc. A self-defense training was practiced on site by the professional instructors.
International programs have been growing in popularity in recent years in China. One of the chief concerns for students studying abroad has to do with safety and security. Therefore, it is of great significance for students to receive safety and security guidance before departure. According to the statistics, CSCSE had provided such service for more than 1.6 million people on site, and 7.1 million online by March 2018.
As the co-organizer of the pre-departure training, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen pays high attention to the cultivation of students' global view. It has collaborative projects with 77 universities around the world. More than 60% students at the University have overseas experience. With a large number of students scheduled to participate in international programs, the University took this chance to help them ensure a safe academic journey.
