Three CUHK-Shenzhen Students Admitted to 2019/2020 Oxford's Visiting Student Programme

After rounds of rigorous selection, three Year-of-2021 CUHK-Shenzhen undergraduates, namely He Weixin (SME & Muse), Dai Ruyun (SSE & Diligentia) and Zhang Kexin (SSE & Muse) were admitted to the Visiting Student Program (VSP) offered by the University of Oxford for 2019/2020 Academic Year. The three outstanding students will embark on a new journey in the U.K. soon this October.

In 2019, VSP enrolled 16 outstanding undergraduates from 9 partner universities in mainland China for a one-semester or one-year exchange study at Oxford. The number of students enrolled from CUHK-Shenzhen was second only to that of Tsinghua University (4 people).

This is the second year that CUHK-Shenzhen has participated in the selection of the programme. Last year, two students from SSE and SME were accepted. 

         Programme Introducation

The Visiting Student Programme (VSP) is organized and administered by Oxford Prospects and Global Development Centre (OPGDC), University of Oxford. Every year, the programme is open to nine partner universities in China and admits no more than 20 students nationwide. The programme is famous for its extremely high admission standard. An applicant needs to meet the following requirements to be considered as a potential candidate:

-  A GPA of 3.7/4.0;

-  IELTS overall score of 7.0 (with at least 7.0 in each), or TOEFL overall score of 110, with component scores of at least: Listening 22, Reading 24, Speaking 25, and Writing 24;

-  Able to provide other related documents to establish academic standing.

Admitted students enjoy access to all academic and social facilities at Oxford, such as a wide range of university facilities, including the Bodleian Library, faculty (subject) libraries, the Oxford University Computing Services, and the great wealth of lectures. They will be on courses taken by full-time undergraduate students and study alongside them in tutorials and lectures.

Since CUHK-Shenzhen has adopted bilingualism as the basis of teaching, Oxford agrees to waive the language requirement for our students.
